I attended the otakuthon as Madame Red, aka, Angelina Durless, AKA Aunt Anne, who I chose because of our similarity in appearance (hair, fair skin...) and health problems (concerning the uterus, but not the EXACT same thing)
Even if there were like five more people who cosplayed the same character as me, I feel pretty good about it because I made my costume from scratch last minute.
So many cool activities, bad cosplay to laugh at, excellent ones to get fangirly, excited or amazed about.
Best of all, I got my France figure and my Black Butler Volume 1 signed by J Michael Tatum <3 my favorite voice actor
I think I want to draw Enel from One Piece because his performance on that was AMAZING.
I was scared I couldn't get his autograph because I couldn't find the line-up until it was full, I couldn't come back the next day because I am going to Washington DC. I was so lucky they opened up the line up again, but another group of Black Butler fans were pushing me around, then, strangely, they let me pass in front of them.
ANYWAYS! VIRGINIA! I was supposed to go to Paris, then when that didn't work, I chose Okinawa, then, Washington.
My mom freaked out and tried to cancel it when the terrorist threat came out. But I had an American friend assure her that the media was just making another attempt to further the hate on Arabs. Besides that, my dad told her about his experiences in Arabia to calm her.
That's honestly what I think. Spread the hate to have an excuse to shoot an Arab in the face. I find it offending that the news attempts to put bad impressions on a specific ethnic group. Mainly because I'm comfortable in a multiethnic environment. Arabs and Koreans made the majority of my high school's population, so, go figure.
ALRIGHT! You'll see my vacation photos and cosplay!
